Company Switches: Outdoor Switches
Union Connector can provide Company Switches for outdoor applications. Our design philosophy is to place a standard Company Switch inside a NEMA 3R enclosure that contains a latching "trap-door" access for cable entry. This provides both environmental and physical security for the Company Switch. Since these units are exposed to the to public view and possible unauthorized access, physical security is essential. In addition, the exterior enclosure gives some degree of protection to the entertainment technician when connecting or disconnecting in inclement weather.
The Company Switch installed inside the NEMA 3R enclosure can be any of the standard types we manufacture, or it can be a custom unit. This Switch will be UL Listed.
The outer NEMA 3R enclosure is designed to mount on a wall surface or electrcal channel provided by the installing contractor. Feed can be top, bottom or side. The feed type will affect the size of the enclosure and should be coordinated with our Engineering department.
